Irmak Aka, EDS Project Manager of Tayra Tekstil, which employs 300 employees in 3 different businesses in Izmir and Manisa, answered our questions. Stating that everyone in the company speaks the same language with EDS during intensive production processes, Aka said, “EDS helped us a lot in creating job descriptions.” Irmak Aka also added that the information flow within the company has become easier with EDS. Hello, can we get to know you first?
Hello, I'm Irmak Aka. I graduated from Ege University Fashion Design Department. I have been working at Tayra Tekstil for 3.5 years. First of all, I have been working as Customer Representative Assistant and for the last 7 months, I have been working as EDS Project Manager.
Can we get information about Tayra Tekstil?
Our company started its activities in 2009. We have nearly 300 employees in our 3 businesses, two of which are in Salihli and one in Bornova. Our monthly capacity is 300-350 thousand pieces of men's, women's, children's clothing, including basic and mixed groups, and we export to countries such as England, Germany, Denmark. Our product types have a wide scale on knitting. We started to focus on weaving groups in our business in Salihli Organized Industrial Zone.
You have taken part in the processes of EDS, which were preferred by your company, from its establishment to the present. What changes have occurred in your company with EDS?
It has been 7 months since I started using EDS. Like other companies, we experienced the pains of transitioning to a new system at the time of installation. This resistance disappeared as we saw that the data we entered were correct results. Everyone's opinion turned positive as we started to automatically monitor all the movements we entered manually on the screens.
In our intensive production processes, EDS ensured that everyone spoke the same language. We have 45 active users and EDS helped us a lot in creating job descriptions. When we look at the screens, seeing the same numbers and the same product ranges made our job easier.
What are the outstanding features of EDS? What is your favorite feature in EDS?
It is a very safe way for us to transfer the changes made on the order to all units via automatic mail. Again, being able to record all physically executed transaction steps with EDS and accessing this information easily when needed is the greatest convenience provided by EDS.
Coming to my favorite feature, I can say that when a user comes and asks me for information, it is easier for me to reply with EDS.
Would you recommend EDS to businesses?
I recommend EDS especially to companies that are newly established or do not have an ERP system. We had too many retrospective records. It took a lot of time and a lot of work to transfer them. It is beneficial for businesses to incorporate EDS into their business processes when they have not made much progress at the beginning.
